Police Investigating Armed Robbery in Brampton

Officers are on scene for an armed robbery in Brampton this afternoon.
Police got a call at 1:31 p.m. regarding a taxi robbery in the area of Bovaird and Royal Orchard Drive.

Police got a call at 1:31 p.m. regarding a taxi robbery in the area of Bovaird and Royal Orchard Drive.
A handgun was seen, police say.

No injuries have been reported at this time.
Three schools in the area are currently under hold and secure: St Maria Goretti Elementary, Royal Orchard Middle School, and Montessori Leaders School and Daycare.
The suspect in this incident is described as a black male, 24 years old, 5’8”, with a medium build. He was wearing red shorts and a dark coloured hoodie/sweater.
Tactical and K9 units are in the area investigating.
UPDATE: Police said at 2:22 p.m. that all hold and secures have been lifted.
