Police Searching for Missing Elderly Brampton Man

Officers have requested the public’s help in locating a missing man from Brampton.

Velbourne Smoke, 92, was last seen at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13. He resides in the area of Wexford and Conestoga Drive and was supposed to visit family in Peterborough, but did not show up.

Smoke is described as a white man, 5’7” and 170 pounds, with a medium build, brown eyes, and short white hair. He has glasses and was wearing brown pants, a blue sweater, grey jacket and black velcro low-cut boots.

Police say he may be travelling in a brown 2002 Buick with an Ontario licence plate number CDPV-608.

Smoke’s family is concerned for his safety and have stated that this behaviour is out of character for him.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police at 905-453–2121, ext. 2233.

UPDATE: Smoke has been located in good health, say Peel police on Jan. 15. They’re thanking the public for their help.
