Province issues another emergency alert in response to COVID-19

The province has issued another emergency alert today in regards to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, urging residents to do what they can to stop the spread of the virus.
The alert reminds residents that COVID-19 can be deadly, and is asking that everyone except essential workers stay home until further notice — only going out for necessities such as groceries, prescriptions, or medical appointments.
“Ignoring self-isolation or physical distancing advice can have devastating effects and endanger lives,” the alert warns.
Speaking again today at Queen’s Park, Premier Doug Ford spoke about the need for the alert.
“If it takes standing here every single day, if it takes mass messages to every single person in Ontario to save even one life, I’m prepared to do that,” Ford said that.
The province has recently directed more businesses to close or offer contact-free services amidst the pandemic.

Ford has thanked the province’s workers who he says are keeping Ontario running during this pandemic, including farmers, factory workers, truck drivers, grocery clerks, and those working in food preparation.
