Retired Peel Police Officer Charged in Fraud Case

A newly retired Peel Regional Police officer is facing charges in relation to a fraud case.
The arrest comes following a nine-month investigation.
Retired Const. Mark Androlia, a 40-year employee of PRP was arrested on May 22 — he resigned on May 4.
Androlia was charged by the professional standards bureau.
He’s accused of fraud over $5,000 and laundering proceeds of crime.
Police Chief Jennifer Evans says she immediately ordered an investigation into the officer’s conduct.

“We hold our employees to a higher standard and we expect them to be exemplary members of the community,” said Evans.
“These charges are of a serious nature and it is important for the community to know that these allegations do not reflect the good work being done each day by the 2,000 plus police officers within Peel Regional Police.”
Androlia was released on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear in Brampton court on June 25.
