Significant snowfall in the forecast for Brampton this winter

Winter isn’t here yet–in fact, this October has featured some gorgeous and reasonably warm days–but it is coming.

Winter isn’t here yet–in fact, this October has featured some gorgeous and reasonably warm days–but it is coming.

And AccuWeather’s 2019/2020 Canada winter forecast for Ontario is predicting some snowy days for Brampton (and the GTA in general).

According to AccuWeather, northwestern Ontario will experience a cold winter. Further east, stormier weather is expected–especially during December and January.

“The weather pattern has the potential to deliver several significant snowfall events to regions, including the greater Toronto area and into the Ottawa Valley,” the forecast says.

GTA residents might be relieved to hear that AccuWeather believes the main storm track could shift farther east by February, which may lead to less snowfall.

That said, the forecast says that an increase in spells of very cold air may result in localized lake-effect snow.

All in all, if you hate driving in snow, you will be disappointed. If you love skiing or snowboarding or other winter sports, you’re in luck.

“Overall, the winter should feature near-average daytime highs, while nighttime lows will experience above-average temperatures due to increased cloud cover,” the forecast reads.

“There is the potential for some significant ice or sleet events across interior southern Ontario, especially during the middle of winter.”
