The city of Brampton to celebrate Chinese New Year

Mayor Patrick Brown and members of council invite residents to celebrate the Chinese New Year and welcome in the year of the Rat.

Mayor Patrick Brown and members of council invite residents to celebrate the Chinese New Year and welcome in the year of the Rat.

The celebration will take place at Brampton City Hall on Sunday, January 26, 2020, from 1-4 p.m. and will include iconic dragon and lion dances, calligraphy artists and food.

Community leaders will also be in attendance and will offer wishes for prosperity and good health for the upcoming year.

The event will include welcoming remarks and speeches and performances such as a Dragon Dance, a Lion Dance, Face Changing and other cultural performances.

There will also be food provided by Mandarin Restaurant.

This event is planned with the Brampton Chinese Business Association and proudly supported by HSBC and Mandarin Restaurant.​
