Thousands Affected by Major Power Outage in Brampton

Many Brampton residents may be finding themselves without power this afternoon.
Many Brampton residents may be finding themselves without power this afternoon.
Around 3:20 p.m., Alectra Utilities reported an outage in the area from Mayfield Road to Derry Road East and from Winston Churchill Boulevard to Goreway Drive.
Approximately 3,000 homes and businesses are affected.
Crews have been dispatched.

Police are aware of traffic lights going out due to the outage and have reminded drivers to treat affected intersections as four way stops.
There is currently no estimate for when power will return.
