Three People Charged Following Drug And Firearm Investigation In Brampton

On September 22, officers conducted patrols near a licensed establishment located in the area of Main Street South and Queen Street in Brampton when they located a suspicious vehicle. After investigation, a 9mm handgun was located within the vehicle along with a kilogram of cocaine with an estimated value of forty thousand dollars.

A 25-year-old man from Toronto, a 24-year-old man from Bowmanville and a 29-year-old woman from Whitby were charged with: unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, occupant of a vehicle knowing there was a firearm, possess firearm with altered serial number and possession for the purpose of trafficking- cocaine. 

They all appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton today (September 23).

“Our officers are committed to ensuring the safety of residents and visitors of Peel Region” said Inspector Hubert Hiltz of the Vice, Narcotics and Street Level Organized Crime Unit. “Illegal firearms such as this have no place on our streets and we will continue to work hard to remove these types of weapons from the hands of criminals.”
