Top 5 Bars to Watch the Playoffs in Brampton

It’s playoffs season for the Raptors and the Leafs!

I’m not the most avid sports fan, but I am a huge advocate for the spirit that comes with playoffs season. Fans gather to cheer on their teams, boo and distract their team’s competitors, and be a part of something bigger than themselves.

While I can’t go to every game to absorb that energy (and be as close to Drake as possible on Drake Night at Raps games), I love watching games at bars. I prefer my playoff games with a cold brew, the view of a screen or ten, accompanied by snacks, and most importantly, surrounded by an enthusiastic crowd. As a Bramptonite, I thank the bar gods that there are places that check all of those boxes not far from home!

Here are the top five bars and restaurants to catch this season’s playoffs in Brampton:

5. Tracks

Tucked away at Queen and Chapel, Tracks is a hidden gem with a casual pub vibe. For playoffs, they have a projector and 10 TVs for you to cheer at, room for a large or a small group, and delicious finger food. I’d highly recommend their nachos (they come with a yummy side of chili, too), deep fried pickles, and calamari. The staff is also super friendly and welcoming. Best of all, Tracks brews their own beer, so you’ll want a few rounds during the game.

4. Onyxx

This sports bar opened last year amidst the plazas on Airport and Queen. Onyxx prides itself on having a fun environment and live sports on all of their TVs. Though they usually play UFC fights, you’ll definitely want to check out their layout during playoffs season. Onyxx is a large space with a classy sports bar vibe happening, and TVs are everywhere, so you’ll definitely have a good spot to catch a game. Energetic, driven by sports, and stadium-like, Onyxx is a great location for a viewing party. Bonus: try the nachos, they’re loaded and come with queso on top.

Turtle Jacks started in Brampton, so it’s only right that their Cottrelle location remain a great go-to for sporting events. It also helps that, right now, you can order from the Kraft Hockeyville menu at the resto and receive a contest to PIN card to enter a contest for a chance to win a trip to a Stanley Cup final game. As for food and drink, the brand is always offering a ton of drink and meal specials that change throughout the week.

2. Rejeanne’s Bar and Grill

Rejeanne’s has been at Queen and Torbram since 1991, and is open until 2a.m. every night, so you and your friends can celebrate until well after the game is over. The restaurant has more than 15 smaller TVs and a large one in the middle, and the spirit is great. The interior is pretty large so there’s room for everyone to sit down during playoffs, they have an abundance of beer, and their vast menu ranges from burgers to chow mein. Rejeanne’s is amazing for playoffs not only because you can see the game from anywhere in the restaurant, or because their crowd is full of spirit, but because they go one step further and do giveaways during the season. This year, they haven’t yet announced their Raptors giveaways, but they’ve got Leafs t-shirts during the season and a jersey to give away at the end.

 1. Oscar’s Roadhouse

Oscar’s at Queen and Bramalea tops this list because it gets packed during playoffs on weekends, so there’s a lot of energy in the crowd throughout the night, plus they have one large screen and a smattering of smaller ones, and you get a take-home cup and entered to win prizes if you drink Canadian during Leafs games. Oscar’s has a southern, country vibe, and they’ve got epic ribs and wings to boot. If you’re looking for great comfort food, a sports fanatic atmosphere, and a classic domestic brew, Oscar’s is your place.
