5. Brampton street name change 

 

Brampton City Council unanimously passed a motion moved by Regional Councillor Gurpreet Singh Dhillon and City Councillor Harkirat Singh to rename a street in honour of the anniversary of the Sikh religion’s founder, Guru Nanak.

Peel Police responded to a reported brawl involving approximately 500 students in Brampton.

Police confirmed that there was a large group of students involved in the disturbance, but that 99.9 per cent of them were recording it and not actually involved.

It was a heartwarming Christmas story like no other.

17-year-old Brampton resident Corey Groves went viral on social media earlier this month when he stated that his dying wish was to meet and shake hands with his hero, NBA pro LeBron James.

His wish officially came true on Christmas Day at the Staples Centre.
