Top 5 Date Night Restaurants in Brampton

When it comes to choosing the perfect date restaurant, you have to keep a few things in mind. While it’s a given that the food has to be on point, the atmosphere has to be equally as enticing–even if it’s not distinctly sexy or overly romantic. A good date restaurant offers ambiance, apt but unobtrusive service and a strong menu (and the menu has a great wine selection, all the better).

If you’re trying to plan a romantic date for a special anniversary or for no reason at all, these five places are more than worth checking out.

Here are the top 5 date restaurants in Brampton.

5) Sushi House

Who says sushi can’t be romantic? Located just north on Main in the heart of downtown Brampton is a Japanese restaurant that has been around for eight years and looks just as good now as it did when it first opened. Sushi house is very inviting, with booths on one side and private dining rooms on the other. This place is great for a date, as the booths offer an intimate setting with ample privacy. As far as the menu goes, the food is on point and your date will be satisfied–especially with the complimentary crunchy noodle soup that kicks off every meal!

4) Bucatini Restaurant and Wine Bar

Located on Bovaird just east of Main is a chic and modern Italian resto that has been around for four years named Bucatini Restaurant and Wine Bar (and wine is always good on a date!). When you walk in, you can’t help but notice how contemporary the interior is–and the sign that says ‘Bucatinis’ in right the middle of the restaurant, which is an interesting touch. Whether you want to go on a casual date or a fancy one, this place is good for both. There are high top tables that can seat up to eight people as well as sit down booths for more romantic dates. The menu has everything from pasta to pizza to some great apps, as you can see below.

3) The Khana Sutra

If the name itself doesn’t evoke romance (perhaps that’s not the right word, but you know what we’re getting at), the atmosphere–especially the live musical performances–will. The Khana Sutra is a spacious Queen Street East restaurant that boasts an expansive, delicious menu, playful decor and relaxing live music that augments a romantic meal. The service is friendly and attentive and the food is a cut above typical Indian fare. If you’re looking to share a meal with your date, try the lime prawn pakoras and the Bharwaan Tandoori mushroom caps. If you want to be wow’d, order the Shehnai Ghosht entree (lamb roasted with cardamom and a herb-flavoured sauce) with some moist garlic naan. You won’t be disappointed–especially if you top the meal off with some tasty Canadian wine.

2) Aria Bistro and Lounge

Located just south of Bovaird on Main is one of the finer dining restaurants in Brampton called Aria. Aria is situated in the beautiful historic house of Walter E. Calvert. This place is a lot bigger than you think, as it boasts six private dining rooms and the main dining room seats about 30 people. This is definitely an occasion date night restaurant, as the service is absolutely impeccable. You will be waited on by no less than three people throughout your meal. The service also comes with a warm, personal touch–you’ll definitely be greeted with a smile when you walk in and a genuine thank you when you leave. The menu has everything from seafood to steaks to Australian lamb chops to an escargot app (as you can see below). You will not be disappointed on a date here.

1) J. Red & Co.

Definitely one of the most modern restaurants in Brampton, from the atmosphere to the innovative menu. Located on Vodden and Main is one of the gems in the city. Chef Jason Rosso is the mastermind behind the menu and if his name sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because he has appeared on such TV shows as Restaurant Makeover, Recipe to Riches and the Marilyn Dennis Show. He is known for offering familiar food with a twist and the menu does not disappoint. What’s better than going out on a date and experimenting with a new style of food you have never tried before? You can try things like smoked cheddar mac ‘n cheese, egg rolls and crispy fried cauliflower ‘wings.’ My favourite is the Bob and Doug burger. Even if you have nothing to talk about, you can still talk about the food!
