Who says dessert needs to come at the end of the meal?! Perhaps dessert can be the meal. A category filled with endless flavours, desserts bring the ultimate mix of textures and toppings to delight any foodie. Whether you want a sit-down place to savour every bite or if you’re looking to grab a treat for the road, there are a number of places in Brampton that will satisfy your sweet tooth. After all, there’s always room for dessert!

Here are the top 5 dessert places in Brampton:

5. Peninsula Bakery

This Asian bakery offers a wide selection of desserts to choose from. The sweet coconut bread and variety of buns (including custard) are fresh and warm to the touch. With so many options to choose from its best to take a walk around before deciding what you want. Fortunately, you can try a lot for a little because buns are as low as 79 cents each.

4. EuroMax Foods Bakery & Deli

This European grocery store carries an assortment of desserts, from donuts and pastries (that you pick yourself!) to a range of cakes, crepes and cheesecakes located behind the counter. The best part is that you can order a piece of cake (sold by 100g) as opposed to an entire cake (but hey, no judgement here). Pro tip: the plum and custard donuts are highly recommended. Once you go to EuroMax you’ll understand why it’s always busy. It’s a one stop shop filled with groceries and goodies.

3. Delizia Bakery

This little Italian bakery located on Ruth Ave. serves a selection of traditional desserts from cannoli to tiramisu and biscotti. There is a great family feel that is both inviting and refreshing. You can grab a few things to go or if you can’t wait (like me), there are tables to sit and enjoy a tasty treat with a beautifully crafted cappuccino. Next time you’re invited to a dinner party and you’re not sure what to bring, any one of their pies would be perfect!

2. Occassions

Specializing in square cakes (essentially cupcakes with square bases), these light and fluffy delights come in a range of flavours with unique names such as 24 Karrot, Robin’s Nest Coconut and North Pole Candy Cane. They also offer a selection of macaroons, decorated cookies, festive shortbreads, cakes, cake pops and even ice cream. There is something for everyone at Occasions. The best part is there does not need to be an occasion to enjoy anything from this cute little shop.

1. Macaronz

As the name may suggest, Macaronz has an amazing selection of macarons that come in all sorts of flavours like Pistachio (classic), Raspberry Cream and seasonal flavours such as Gingerbread and Santa’s Belly. They even have macaroon ice cream sandwiches! For $20 you can mix and match a dozen macaroons, mini donuts, shortbread cookies and scones to make a treat box. This is a great deal because it can be hard to decide when there are so many delicious options. They also offer High Tea (reservations recommended) with a number of menus to choose from.
