As far as comfort food goes, Radica’s Hot and Spicy is definitely a hotspot. It’s a little hard to find since it’s tucked away right at Queen and Rutherford, but once you get in there, it’s hard not to fall in love with the place. The first thing that both the staff members working at the counter suggest is the doubles along with boneless goat roti. They were able to bring the food out in an impressively short amount of time. So as far as service goes, the staff at Radica’s did a great job but it is worth noting that their food spoke volumes for itself. Served hot and with the suitable amount of spice upon request, the food instantly warms you up on the inside, which is great.
Kwality is one of Brampton’s busiest Indian restaurants at all times and on all days of the week - and for good reason! Kwality at Steeles and Torbram has some truly scumptious Indian food. You can get a solid meal here for well under $30 - it’s on the middle end of the Indian dining spectrum, still quite casual. Two major pointers when you go to Kwality: first, make sure you try their samosas. It’s a little steep compared to other restos with samosas in Brampton, at $2.25 for three, but they boast the right amount of spice and flavour. Samosa game strong! Then, there’s the garlic naan. This might be the best naan in all of Brampton - perfectly fluffy and doughy, and doused in butter and garlic to make the perfect compliment to your curry. As for curries, their butter chicken is the bomb, sweet, spicy, and creamy all at once. You might be overwhelmed with the decor and the amount of people when you walk in, but Kwality definitely has its own charm - and good quality food (see what I did there?). Don’t forget to pick up some sweets before you go, and wash your meal down with some piping hot and aromatic masala chai.
From pork spare ribs and beef brisket, to homemade sausages and fried chicken, to spicy mac and cheese and poutine, the brand new casual resto has some indulgent menu items all set for customers. They boast dine-in, take-out, and delivery, so if you want to try their food, you don’t even need to leave your house. “We smoke our meat all night over whole chunks of naturally procured wood,” says the resto. All of their meat and produce is sourced from Ontario, so you can be glad to know you’re eating local, and everything is indulgent and set for a cheat meal at this Maritime Ontario Blvd. hotspot for meat and more. With a chill vibe, kind and helpful staff, and delicious food, Food Fight has won our foodie hearts.
Sweets, hot meals, alcohol, lots of space, TVs, Nova Grill and Bakery has it all. You've probably seen Nova Grill and Bakery locations around the GTA, but this is one of the few that offers cooked meals. The quarter chicken meal is tied for the cheapest meal on the list, advertised at $6.99 in store. A huge perk is the variety of sides to choose from. Stick with your roasted potatoes and rice, or grab some steamed vegetables, rapini, small baked potatoes (with the skin) instead. And believe me, the list does go on. The chicken is done well and doesn't venture far from traditional Portuguese tradition with juicy meat and a crispy-ish skin with mild or hot piri piri sauce on the side or slathered on. Come to the restaurant/bakery for a get together with family or friends and I can almost guarantee you will not be disappointed. Even if you don't get the chicken.
