Located just south of Bovaird on Main is one of the finer dining restaurants in Brampton called Aria. Aria is situated in the beautiful historic house of Walter E. Calvert. This place is a lot bigger than you think, as it boasts six private dining rooms and the main dining room seats about 30 people. This is definitely an occasion date night restaurant, as the service is absolutely impeccable. You will be waited on by no less than three people throughout your meal. The service also comes with a warm, personal touch--you’ll definitely be greeted with a smile when you walk in and a genuine thank you when you leave. The menu has everything from seafood to steaks to Australian lamb chops to an escargot app (as you can see below). You will not be disappointed on a date here.
The Crown and Lion feels like one of those places you can see yourself coming back to any night of the week. The Crown and Lion has been a favorite for many Bramptonians because of the friendly and inviting atmosphere. Nearing Brampton’s border at Financial and Steeles, this pub doesn’t fall in line with the usual dark toned aesthetic that most pubs seem to have. With the Crown and Lion, right when you walk in you’ll quickly notice how well-lit the entire joint is and the bright colour scheme will also grab your attention. They have a lot of great theme nights, including Monday nights for wings and Wednesday nights for pub trivia. My personal favourite and main recommendation is their wings, but if you’re looking to grab something to share with friends, I also suggest trying their spinach and artichoke dip or the wings. Either way, you’ll leave knowing you had great food in a great place.
From pork spare ribs and beef brisket, to homemade sausages and fried chicken, to spicy mac and cheese and poutine, the brand new casual resto has some indulgent menu items all set for customers. They boast dine-in, take-out, and delivery, so if you want to try their food, you don’t even need to leave your house. “We smoke our meat all night over whole chunks of naturally procured wood,” says the resto. All of their meat and produce is sourced from Ontario, so you can be glad to know you’re eating local.
2) J. Red & Co.
Definitely one of the most modern restaurants in Brampton, from the atmosphere to the innovative menu. Located on Vodden and Main is one of the gems in the city. Chef Jason Rosso is the mastermind behind the menu and if his name sounds familiar to you, it's probably because he has appeared on such TV shows as Restaurant Makeover, Recipe to Riches and the Marilyn Dennis Show. He is known for offering familiar food with a twist and the menu does not disappoint. What's better than going out on a date and experimenting with a new style of food you have never tried before? You can try things like smoked cheddar mac 'n cheese, egg rolls and crispy fried cauliflower ‘wings.’ Our favourite is the Bob and Doug burger.
The hottest restaurant in Brampton this week is also Brampton’s newest restaurant. A new, unique Indian restaurant boasting traditional flavours and a specialty just opened this week in Brampton, and readers are a-buzz. It's called Paranthe Wali Gali - which means "the lane of parantha-makers" - and it's located at Clarence and Kennedy. A parantha is an Indian flatbread that's popular in different styles in South Asian countries. The flatbread is typically flaky and can be stuffed with different ingredients. Paranthe Wali Gali serves a whopping almost 60 different kinds of paranthe (plural of parantha), including butter chicken, beet root, and chicken biryani. Some of the paranthe are inspired by different South Asian regions, like Chennai (parantha with potatoes and southern-flavoured herbs) and Kashmir (parantha with kidney beans and Indian herbs).
