Located at 15 Main Street North, this resto boasts a great location and actually sits in a historical building (they had to renovate the space before opening). The restaurant boasts a main floor bar and lounge, a second floor meeting and dining room and the aforementioned rooftop patio (which features a bar). The food offerings are diverse (which is ideal in a city as multicultural as Brampton) and affordable and the resto also boasts a simple wine list, good quality spirits and a mix of local and international beers. We highlight recommend the fries, the fish tacos, the mac and cheese, and…well, pretty much anything on their menu!
4) Sushi House
Who says sushi can't be romantic? Located just north on Main in the heart of downtown Brampton is a Japanese restaurant that has been around for eight years and looks just as good now as it did when it first opened. Sushi house is very inviting, with booths on one side and private dining rooms on the other. This place is great for a date, as the booths offer an intimate setting with ample privacy. As far as the menu goes, the food is on point and your date will be satisfied—especially with the complimentary crunchy noodle soup that kicks off every meal!
If you love Filipino cuisine, you’ll be excited to know that Brampton just got a new Filipino restaurant! It’s called Fan "D" Flame, and it’s serving up some delicious food from its spot in the plaza at Main and Bovaird, in the same area at Rona and the passport office. What can you expect to eat at Fan "D" Flame? A ton of classic Filipino dishes, with some Chinese and Western fusion, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. From fried rice and noodles, to chicken wings and spring rolls, to halo-halo and lechon, you'll find it all at Fan "D" Flame. According to the owners, this new restaurant offers dine-in, takeout and even catering. Restaurant owners highlight that Fan "D" Flame roasts their pic in house, with an oven that can fit eight pigs for roasting. It's called Cebu's lechon, and if you eat pork, this is definitely something you'll want to try. And, this place serves bubble tea…and there’s a buffet.
Here's a fun option for the fam - head to an Indian buffet! Brar's is a veggie restaurant, but they have an abundance of delicious Indian comfort food that'll satisfy the entire fam - and, the kids (and you!) will have fun choosing their meal from the buffet tables. Samosas, curry, and sweets galore await you and the fam at Brar's, a flavour experience you won't want to miss. Visiting Brar's at Bovaird and the 410 will definitely shake up your typical family meal. Their buffet is easy to navigate and the staff is quite helpful, and the wide variety of options makes it easy for everyone to find something they like. Brar’s sits at a reasonable price of about $25 for their buffet on a Saturday or a Sunday night. On weekdays that drops to $15 for lunch.
If you want to hit this Fisherman’s Drive hotspot on a Saturday or Sunday, be prepared to wait a few minutes for a table. John’s Family Restaurant, a tasty establishment known for serving massive portions of breakfast, brunch and Greek and Italian fare, is a casual restaurant run by friendly servers that’s augmented by a filling and delicious menu. While a lot of more casual restaurants tend to serve decidedly ordinary Benedicts, John’s offers a delicious smoked salmon Benny that’s heavy on both fish and flavour. The hollandaise is also subtle, memorable and delicious. As far as staples go, the eggs, bacon, sausages and pancakes are perfectly prepared and wonderfully filling. The breakfast potatoes are also exceptional, as they’re comprised of the real deal--no store-bought cubes here! Our cover photo is also from John’s.
