5) That Italian Place

If you want a great artisan sandwich (especially a loaded veal one with all the fixings), this is the place to go. Hidden in an industrial-ish area just around the corner from Williams Parkway and Torbram, That Italian Place is a very busy spot with an authentic Italian feel. A word of caution when you visit: order early or have time to spare. This absolute gem of a restaurant appeared on The Food Network’s You Gotta Eat Here in 2013 and for good reason - every item on the menu looks and tastes authentically delicious. If you’re in the mood for a hearty veal sandwich with all the toppings, you truly shouldn’t look anywhere else. The veal is tender, the mushrooms are filling and flavourful and the hot peppers add a certain wow factor that makes the sandwich complete. Another awesome item on their menu is the authentic woodfired pizza! If you’re looking to grab lunch, this is the ideal spot.

4) Sushi House

Who says sushi can't be romantic? Located just north on Main in the heart of downtown Brampton is a Japanese restaurant that has been around for eight years and looks just as good now as it did when it first opened. Sushi house is very inviting, with booths on one side and private dining rooms on the other. This place is great for a date, as the booths offer an intimate setting with ample privacy. As far as the menu goes, the food is on point and your date will be satisfied—especially with the complimentary crunchy noodle soup that kicks off every meal!

3) Thai Pepper

Hands down, Thai Pepper has the best quality Thai food in Brampton. The quality, quantity, and cost are all worth your while. Located not too far from Sandalwood and Hurontario, Thai Pepper’s meagre decor in its unassuming plaza is completely contrary to the amazing cuisine found within. The menu offered several different choices, classics and unique specialties. Fortunately, the affordable prices makes it easy to not feel too bad about indulging in a few items. Some of our favourite items include the ever-classic shrimp tom yum soup, which boasts the perfect amount of spice and comes with huge, quality prawns, and the basil fried rice. Thai Pepper has a variety of items, too. Be warned, if you are in a rush, Thai Pepper may not be the best option for you. If you are looking to eat a delicious meal and spend time relaxing with a friend, you’ve come to the right place.

2) Aria Bistro and Lounge

Located just south of Bovaird on Main is one of the finer dining restaurants in Brampton called Aria. Aria is situated in the beautiful historic house of Walter E. Calvert. This place is a lot bigger than you think, as it boasts six private dining rooms and the main dining room seats about 30 people. This is definitely an occasion date night restaurant, as the service is absolutely impeccable. You will be waited on by no less than three people throughout your meal. The service also comes with a warm, personal touch—you'll definitely be greeted with a smile when you walk in and a genuine thank you when you leave. The menu has everything from seafood to steaks to Australian lamb chops to an escargot app (as you can see below). You will not be disappointed on a date here.

1) Terrace on the Green

If you travel to one of Brampton's most sophisticated and serene restaurants, you'll get to pair exquisite scenery with a classic dishes. Terrace on the Green, a spacious fine-dining establishment that doubles as a wedding and special occasion venue, offers great ambiance and a classic menu full of tried and true favourites, including a roasted Chilean sea bass with risotto and a very fresh slaw. Although the risotto is somewhat average, the Chilean sea bass is anything but. The dish boasts soft, tender white fish with a crispy, golden top that's perfectly seasoned. The fish is neither chewy nor dry and the lightly fried surface adds a delectable bit of crunch to an otherwise delicate item. The rest of the menu is full of fine dining classics, so it won’t disappoint anyone looking for a traditional dinner. The steak is another highlight on the menu - it’s elegant, and served beautifully, topped with mushrooms and served with a flavourful sauce. Talk about fancy.
