Here are the 5 hottest restaurants in Brampton for the week of October 20 to 26, based on the amount of organic page views and searches these restaurants received on inbrampton.com.

5) J. Red & Co

Definitely one of the most modern restaurants in Brampton, from the atmosphere to the innovative menu. Located on Vodden and Main is one of the gems in the city. Chef Jason Rosso is the mastermind behind the menu and if his name sounds familiar to you, it's probably because he has appeared on such TVshows as Restaurant Makeover, Recipe to Riches and the Marilyn Denis Show. He is known for offering familiar food with a twist and the menu does not disappoint. What's better than going out on a date and experimenting with a new style of food you have never tried before? You can try things like smoked cheddar mac 'n cheese, egg rolls and crispy fried cauliflower ‘wings.’ Our favourite is the Bob and Doug burger. This place is featured in our cover photo.

4) Baker's Jerk House

Baker's Jerk quickly left an exceptional impression on me when it comes to their fried chicken. Located at Sunnyvale Gate and Bovaird, the chicken at this little spot will hit your flavor palate with a taste of homemade cooking that can be hard to compete with. I also have to commend Baker's Jerk House for coming through on a fried chicken recipe that has the perfect amount of salt and oil and felt far from being over-saturated. When it came to the actual chicken, it was perfectly moist and flavorful. You can get your fried chicken with a side of rice and peas and I highly recommend getting the oxtail gravy to go along with it.

3) Shawarma Queen

This is the spot in Brampton when it comes to shawarma. I will happily put this joint up against any place in the GTA when it comes to Arab grub. Straight flexin' like Nate Diaz at a UFC weigh in, I bring my co-workers, family, friends and lovers here for food on the regular and it never disappoints. The staff here are absolutely the nicest people you will meet in the shawarma game. Support your local, independent business, especially when they are this good!

2. That Italian Place

If you want a great artisan sandwich (especially a loaded veal one with all the fixings), this is the place to go. Hidden in an industrial-ish area just around the corner from Williams Parkway and Torbram, That Italian Place is a very busy spot with an authentic Italian feel. A word of caution when you visit: order early or have time to spare. This absolute gem of a restaurant appeared on The Food Network's You Gotta Eat Here in 2013 and for good reason - every item on the menu looks and tastes authentically delicious. If you're in the mood for a hearty veal sandwich with all the toppings, you truly shouldn't look anywhere else. The veal is tender, the mushrooms are filling and flavourful and the hot peppers add a certain wow factor that makes the sandwich complete. Another awesome item on their menu is the authentic woodfired pizza! If you're looking to grab lunch, this is the ideal spot.

1) Henry's Fish & Chips

They're right when they say they have "the best fish and chips in town." Located in a plaza on Main Street North, the restaurant has a lot to offer. Not only do they serve five different types of fish but also salads and appetizers. The staff wasn't very talkative but knew how to make good fish and chips. I got the small halibut and chips meal for about $10. The fish was fresh, soft and the batter melted in my mouth. The fries were good but a little soft, so they might disappoint if you prefer a crispy texture. The dining area was huge and clean. If you're planning on eating in or taking out, Henry's is a great choice to satisfy your fish and chips craving.
