Top 5 Restaurants with Stunning Interiors in Brampton

Published December 12, 2016 at 5:31 am

Brampton has a vast, exciting and expansive restaurant scene and while most establishments offer fantastic food, a choice few go the extra mile and provide diners with absolutely exquisite surroundings.

It’s one thing to put together an attractive restaurant, but it’s quite another to create a truly aesthetically memorable one that–along with the food–keeps people coming back.

Although there are a lot of gorgeous restaurants in the city, these five (listed in no particular order) stand out because they’re hard to forget.

Aria Bistro and Lounge

Located just south of Bovaird on Main is one of the finer dining restaurants in Brampton called Aria. Aria is situated in the beautiful historic house of Walter E. Calvert. This place is a lot bigger than you think, as it boasts six private dining rooms and the main dining room seats about 30 people. This is definitely an occasion date night restaurant, as the service is absolutely impeccable. You will be waited on by no less than three people throughout your meal. The service also comes with a warm, personal touch—you’ll definitely be greeted with a smile when you walk in and a genuine thank you when you leave. The menu has everything from seafood to steaks to Australian lamb chops to an escargot app (as you can see below). You will not be disappointed on a date here.

J. Red & Co.

Definitely one of the most modern restaurants in Brampton, from the atmosphere to the innovative menu. Chef Jason Rosso is the mastermind behind the menu and if his name sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because he has appeared on such TV shows as Restaurant Makeover, Recipe to Riches and the Marilyn Dennis Show. He is known for offering familiar food with a twist and the menu does not disappoint. What’s better than going out on a date and experimenting with a new style of food you have never tried before? You can try things like smoked cheddar mac ‘n cheese, egg rolls and crispy fried cauliflower ‘wings.’ My favourite is the Bob and Doug burger. Even if you have nothing to talk about, you can still talk about the food!

Antica Osteria

This Mayfield Road restaurant pairs warmth and sophistication, wowing guests with a classic wine bar and comforting earthy tones. While a great deal of attention has been paid to the setting, the restaurant is better known for serving fine Italian fare. The resto’s website calls attention to the fact that the establishment occupies “one of the most prestigious indoor spaces in Snelgrove” and the enriching ambiance is apparent as soon as you walk in the door. This restaurant is ideal for a special occasion and the menu doesn’t disappoint, offering such classics as Gnocchi con Pera e Gorgonzola, Penne alla Vodka, lamb and more.

Caravan Kabob House

When it comes to modern, eye-catching decor, this Steeles Ave. kabob joint is second to none–it is absolutely stunning. With clean lines, vibrant colours and some geometric flourishes, this is the kind of restaurant you linger at to fully absorb the ambiance. In terms of food, the restaurant specializes in Afghan cuisine and offers an array of savoury meat platters, a tandoori dinner, a tikka dinner and more. If you’re in the mood for meat, the resto offers lamb, steak and chicken entrees that are sure to leave you full. The restaurant is interesting in the sense that you get quick-service in a space designed with comfort and sophistication in mind. Caravan Kabob house is run by Chef Omar Momand, a culinary aficionado and trained photographer who is also behind the popular Watan Kabob restaurant. Who says quick meals like kabobs can’t be enjoyed in chic, modern restos?

Cantina Fellini

Nothing screams “ambiance” more than dark stone walls that bridge the divide between old-school, medieval-esque looks and classically contemporary interiors. This sophisticated wine bar, located right in Brampton’s downtown core near the Rose Theatre, is ideal for dates and special outings. The resto, which boasts the talents of executive chef Angelo D, offers French and Italian dishes that boast memorable flavours and top-notch presentation. The resto is also well known for its house-baked desserts, including tiramisu, creme brulee, torta di limone and more. In terms of entrees, diners can treat themselves to charcuterie, escargot, homemade gnocchi, lamb rack chops and more before shows at the Theatre (or any night just because they want to enjoy something a little nicer). The resto also boasts a refreshing selection of surprisingly affordable wine bottles, including merlots, chiantis, sauvignon blancs and more.
