This hidden gem in Garden Square should not be overlooked. The cafe offers a small variety of lunch sandwiches and the staff is friendly and the ingredients are fresh. Grilled cheese is always a safe bet but if you're looking to mix it up, the pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich is a delicious alternative. The pulled pork is tasty with a nice touch of flavor and combined with cheddar cheese, the sandwich is top notch. The meal costs about $6 and is a good size for lunch. The venue is clean and the staff is super friendly. If you're looking for a tasty and big veal sandwich, then this is the place for you. The veal is cooked well and the sandwich is complete with a good amount of flavourful tomato sauce. The bun was a little chewy for my liking, but overall the sandwich will please your craving. Don't underestimate this tiny take-out spot on Queen Street East. The Italian resto has pizza, pasta, hot sandwiches and more available. I recently tried the meatball sandwich and after quick service, I was pleasantly surprised with the grub. It was a little messy, cheesy and meaty—making me extremely full and extremely satisfied. The tomato sauce really completes the sandwich with its rich and flavourful taste. I was also impressed with the yummy meatballs and the soft bun. You might have already ventured to this unique eatery as it was featured on TV for its sandwich inventions. The restaurant is in a great spot near Gage Park and has a variety of rare sandwich creations. After much deliberation, I decided to try the Pulled Pork and Beanasaurus meal. The sandwich is humongous and exceptional. The pulled pork was saucy and scrumptious. I wasn't sure how well the fried mac and cheese bites would combine with the coleslaw, but Sul Irmaos knows good sandwiches! Make sure to bring your appetite and prepare to surprise your taste buds when dining here.
Kudos to Ital Sandwiches who opened about four months ago but seem like they've been in business for years. The Italian resto is in a new plaza and has hot sandwiches, salads and catering options up for grabs. The venue is clean and tidy with lots of seating available. I ordered the mouthwatering veal sandwich and fell in love after the first bite. The veal was tender and delicious. The tomato sauce tastes authentic and has a nice kick to it. The only thing I would change is adding a little more sauce but other than that, this veal sandwich does not disappoint.
