Here's a look at the top 5 swankiest restaurants and what occasion they're most ideal for.
5) Sushi House
Who says sushi can’t be romantic? Located just north on Main in the heart of downtown Brampton is a Japanese restaurant that has been around for eight years and looks just as good now as it did when it first opened. Sushi house is very inviting, with booths on one side and private dining rooms on the other. This place is great for a date, as the booths offer an intimate setting with ample privacy. As far as the menu goes, the food is on point and your date will be satisfied--especially with the complimentary crunchy noodle soup that kicks off every meal!
What's this place great for? An early date with someone you're just getting to know.
If the name itself doesn’t evoke romance (perhaps that’s not the right word, but you know what we’re getting at), the atmosphere--especially the live musical performances--will. The Khana Sutra is a spacious Queen Street East restaurant that boasts an expansive, delicious menu, playful decor and relaxing live music that augments a romantic meal. The service is friendly and attentive and the food is a cut above typical Indian fare. If you’re looking to share a meal with your date, try the lime prawn pakoras and the Bharwaan Tandoori mushroom caps. If you want to be wow’d, order the Shehnai Ghosht entree (lamb roasted with cardamom and a herb-flavoured sauce) with some moist garlic naan. You won’t be disappointed--especially if you top the meal off with some tasty Canadian wine.
What's this place great for: Take your beloved here on a nice dating anniversary to enjoy some fantastic live music and a truly unique menu that's full of flavour.
Located just south of Bovaird on Main is one of the finer dining restaurants in Brampton called Aria. Aria is situated in the beautiful historic house of Walter E. Calvert. This place is a lot bigger than you think, as it boasts six private dining rooms and the main dining room seats about 30 people. This is definitely an occasion date night restaurant, as the service is absolutely impeccable. You will be waited on by no less than three people throughout your meal. The service also comes with a warm, personal touch--you’ll definitely be greeted with a smile when you walk in and a genuine thank you when you leave. The menu has everything from seafood to steaks to Australian lamb chops to an escargot app (as you can see below). You will not be disappointed on a date here.
What's this place great for: Although it's a great date restaurant, it's also perfect for dinner, your anniversary or an elegant girl's night out.
2) J. Red & Co.
Definitely one of the most modern restaurants in Brampton, from the atmosphere to the innovative menu. Located on Vodden and Main is one of the gems in the city. Chef Jason Rosso is the mastermind behind the menu and if his name sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because he has appeared on such TV shows as Restaurant Makeover, Recipe to Riches and the Marilyn Dennis Show. He is known for offering familiar food with a twist and the menu does not disappoint. What’s better than going out on a date and experimenting with a new style of food you have never tried before? You can try things like smoked cheddar mac ‘n cheese, egg rolls and crispy fried cauliflower 'wings.' My favourite is the Bob and Doug burger. Even if you have nothing to talk about, you can still talk about the food!
What this place is great for? It's perfect for a landmark birthday (25, 30, 40, 50 etc) and a guy's or girl's night out.
If you travel to one of Brampton’s most sophisticated and serene restaurants, you’ll get to pair exquisite scenery with a classic dishes. Terrace on the Green, a spacious fine-dining establishment that doubles as a wedding and special occasion venue, offers great ambiance and a classic menu full of tried and true favourites, including a roasted Chilean sea bass with risotto and a very fresh slaw. Although the risotto is somewhat average, the Chilean sea bass is anything but. The dish boasts soft, tender white fish with a crispy, golden top that’s perfectly seasoned. The fish is neither chewy nor dry and the lightly fried surface adds a delectable bit of crunch to an otherwise delicate item. The rest of the menu is full of fine dining classics, so it won't disappoint anyone looking for a traditional dinner.
What this place is great for: A wedding anniversary dinner.
