Two Major Restaurants are Joining Forces in Brampton and Beyond
Big news in the quick-service food world!
If you enjoy both coffee and frozen yogurt, you are in luck—the once-embattled homegrown-chain Second Cup (which appears to be making slow and steady progress after a long and worrisome sales slump) recently announced the roll-out of a Pinkberry frozen yogurt program.
The brand said it has signed a category exclusive licensing agreement with Pinkberry Canada Inc. and will begin rolling out the Pinkberry Frozen Yogurt program in Second Cup cafes across the country starting this month.
If you've noticed Pinkberry at other Second Cup locations in the past, that's because the program launched as a market test in four locations earlier this summer. It appears the initiative was successful, as Second Cup credits Pinkberry with "contributing significantly to sales and profitability as well as attracting new customers."
“I am very pleased to see Pinkberry driving double-digit sales growth in the test cafes and our team is excited to begin this rollout across the country," said Garry Macdonald, Second Cup’s president & CEO, in a statement. "We expect this new initiative, in conjunction with other products in development, to further differentiate Second Cup, enhance our customers’ experience and build our sales momentum.”
The brand says Second Cup franchisees are on board with bringing Pinkberry to their cafes.
“The Pinkberry product is outstanding and perfectly complements our current offering,
Waeil Elbeah, multi-unit franchisee and advisory council member said in a statement. "It has the potential to significantly grow our sales and profitability. I can’t wait to launch Pinkberry in my cafes.”
So if you enjoy pairing your morning coffee with a frozen treat, you might be able to grab both in a location near you soon.
