Two Men Charged With Possession of a Firearm in Brampton

Investigators from the Street Level Organized Crime Bureau have charged two Brampton men for several firearms and drug-related offences.

At the start of the summer, officers began an investigation into an illegal firearm in the City of Brampton.

As a result of that investigation, a search warrant was conducted at an apartment building in the area of Dixie Road and Queen Street in Brampton by a member of the Street Level Organized Crime Unit with assistance from the Tactical and Rescue Unit.

Both men attempted to flee from police by traversing several balconies but were quickly apprehended.

A 31-year-old man from Brampton has been charged with the following:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of Weapon Obtained by Crime
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance
  • Possession for the Purpose - Opiod
  • Possession for the Purpose - Cocaine x2
  • Purpose for the Purpose - Heroin
  • Purpose for the Purpose - MDMA

A 29-year-old man from Brampton has been charged with the following:

  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Possession of Weapon Obtained by Crime
  • Possession of Firearm Contrary to Order
  • Possession for the Purpose - Opiod
  • Possession for the Purpose - Cocaine x2
  • Purpose for the Purpose - Heroin
  • Purpose for the Purpose - MDMA

Both men will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Wednesday, August 7.
