Two new coronavirus cases just diagnosed in Region of Peel

Two new cases of coronavirus have been diagnosed in the Region of Peel, according to the province’s COVID-19 website

The cases were confirmed as of 2:00 pm on March 18.

According to the website, a male in his 20s was diagnosed after traveling to Europe and coming into close contact with another patient. The site also says a woman in her 60s was diagnosed after coming into close contact with someone with the virus.

Both people are in self-isolation. 

As of Monday, March 16, Peel had 21 cases of coronavirus. This brings the total to 23. 

No new coronaviruses were diagnosed in the region on March 17. 

According to the website, there are currently 206 cases in Ontario, with 3,379 possible cases under investigation. Five cases of the virus have been resolved and 10,305 people have tested negative. 

One person, a 77-year-old male, has died with the virus. It’s not yet clear if coronavirus caused his death. 

Four new cases have also been diagnosed in Halton. 

According to the website, two women in their 50s were diagnosed after traveling to the Caribbean (one also went to the U.S.). The site also says a woman in her 50s was diagnosed after traveling to the U.S., and that a man in his 40s was recently diagnosed. 

All four are self-isolating.
