Two PDSB staff members in Brampton test positive for COVID-19


A pair of staff members with the Peel District School Board (PDSB) have tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a letter from PDSB—shared via social media by Global News’ Travis Dhanraj—an employee who tested positive for the virus was in the North Field Office building in Brampton on August 28.

Upon learning of the test results, PDSB notified Peel Public Health—and they are investigating where the employee went while infectious.

The news comes after PDSB announced in a separate letter, also shared online by Dhanraj, that a staff member for Ross Drive Public School in Brampton in the building on August 27 prior to testing positive for the virus.

Due to privacy legislation, the names of the individuals is protected and PDSB will not be releasing them.

Both Ross Drive Public School and the North Field Office have been cleaned since the 27 and 28 respectively, but PDSB is urging staff to follow the established screening and infection control steps, and monitor themselves for symptoms.

Additionally, PDSB is urging employees to review the advice of public health agencies and government officials on how to protect themselves and others from the virus.
