Two Suspects Charged After Firearm Recovered During Traffic Stop in Brampton

Two suspects have been charged after a firearm was recovered during a traffic stop in Brampton.

On Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at 2:17 a.m., Peel Police officers investigated a vehicle in the area of Steeles Avenue and Tomken Road. 

According to police, officers noticed marijuana that was readily available to the driver.

And as a result of a search conducted under the Cannabis Control Act, a loaded firearm was located.

Two suspects are now facing a number of alleged charges.

Tyranne Greenidge, a 26-year-old man from Toronto, is facing the following alleged charges:

  • Unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Possession of a loaded firearm
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Fail to comply with recognizance
  • Possession contrary to order
  • Breach of probation order
  • Possession of over 50 grams dried cannabis in a public place

The accused was held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Wednesday, June 26, 2019.

Shaii-Anna Cerdas Hinds, a 22-year-old woman from Toronto, is facing the following alleged charges:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Possession of a loaded firearm
  • Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Possession of over 50 grams of dried cannabis in a public place

The accused was also held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Tuesday, June 26, 2019.
