UPDATE: Brampton man charged after victim fatally struck by vehicle

The Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau is continuing to investigate a recent homicide in Brampton.

Just before 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 25, police responded to a fail-to-remain collision on Sunny Meadow Boulevard.

“A 51-year-old man from Brampton was located in life threatening condition and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died as a result of the injuries he sustained,” police say.

Peel Police’s Major Collision Bureau initially led the investigation until obtaining information indicating the incident was a homicide.

On Thursday, December 26, officers located the vehicle involved. Shortly after, they located the suspect.

A 53 year old Brampton man was taken into custody for second degree murder and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Friday, December 27.
