Very, Very Cheap Pizza Being Offered in Brampton Today
Do you have a hankering for pizza but not a ton of dough to throw around?
If so, you are in luck—today (Oct. 17), diners can enjoy 1967 pricing on cheese and pepperoni slices at traditional Pizza Pizza locations.
The initiative, held in support of children's hospitals, also marks Pizza Pizza’s 50th anniversary. To celebrate, the brand is holding a nation-wide party and offering customers a pizza slice and can of Coke for $1.50—the menu price when the first Pizza Pizza location opened its doors in 1967.
The party is on from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Diners who participate will also be contributing to the Slices for Smiles Foundation, as a percentage of the proceeds from the day’s promotion will go to the Foundation that supports Children’s Miracle Network hospitals in Canada.
“It’s been an honour to serve Canadians for fifty years,” says Pat Finelli, chief marketing officer at Pizza Pizza and an employee of the company since 1984. “Thanks to our customers, franchisees and partners, who have allowed us to be the best in the business. We’re looking forward to many more years of leadership, innovation and community service.”
The first Pizza Pizza location opened December 1967 on the corner of Wellesley and Parliament in the Cabbagetown neighbourhood in Toronto. Interestingly enough, the first restaurant stands at the same location today.
The October 17 festivities will also kick-off for the Slices for Smiles campaign, an annual fundraiser that helps to collect funds and raise awareness for Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) and its 14 member hospitals in Canada.
From October 18 to October 22, Pizza Pizza will sell a smiley-faced medium cheese and pepperoni pizza for $5, with proceeds going to CMN.
