Summer is here, and with that, so are events at Garden Square!
Summer is here, and with that, so are events at Garden Square!
While there are a bunch of festivals and events scheduled for Garden Square this summer – and there’s going to be street food and music galore – the Square has released its own lineup of regular events throughout the week.
From music to Jays games, here’s what’s on tap weekly at Garden Square this summer.
Mondays – Brampton On Screen
June 12 to August 28, 7:00 p.m.
Videos
The Square will be playing Brampton-based, digitally produced media on the big screen every Monday night. That includes student short films, YouTube sensations, artist music videos, and full films!
Tuesdays – Discover Canada
June 13 to August 29, 7:00 p.m.
It’s Canada’s 150th birthday this year, and Tuesdays will celebrate Canada’s diverse culture and history. On Tuesdays, the big screen will showcase footage from across Canada – iconic landmarks, beautiful Canadian landscapes, and culture. Some Tuesdays will also have live music and community showcases.
Wednesdays – Brampton On Stage
June 14 to August 30, 7:00 p.m.
Brampton On Stage will feature live performances by Brampton’s brightest emerging talents. New Brampton talent will take the stage every Wednesday evening.
Thursdays – Throwback Thursday Movies
June 15 to August 31, 8:00 p.m.
Past family favourites and cult classics like Cast Away, Men in Black, and Toy Story will take the screen on Thursdays. Residents are reminded that limited seating is available and to bring their own lawn chairs! For the full movie lineup, click here.
Fridays – Friday Night Live
June 16 to September 1, 8:00pm Opener & 9:00pm Headliner
This weekly music series will showcase local openers followed by headlining bands or artists from the GTA. Each week will be themed to a genre of music, like jazz, rock, hip-hop, indie or rap.
Saturdays – Saturday Movie Nights
June 17 to September 2, 7:00pm & 9:00pm Double Feature
Saturdays will feature two movies back-to-back in the Square. Pre-movie activities will take place in the Square at 6 p.m. each week, so audiences are invited to come early. Residents are reminded that limited seating is available and to bring their own lawn chairs! For the full movie lineup, click here.
Sundays – Blue Jays Sundays
June 4 to October 1, Various Times
That’s right, Garden Square will feature Jays games on Sundays as they take on the top teams in the MLB!
