Easter Weekend in 2019 is Good Friday (April 19), Easter Sunday (April 21) and Easter Monday (April 22) in Brampton.

We know it might be a little confusing, but here's what is open and closed this long weekend:

Almost everything that is closed Friday is closed Sunday.

  • Bramalea City Centre in Brampton is closed Friday and Sunday (Open Saturday 9:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m.)
  • All major grocery stores (Metro, Loblaws, Oceans)
  • All major malls
  • Trinity Common Mall
  • Government offices
  • Banks
  • Libraries
  • Some Community Centres (please check here to confirm the hours of your local centre)
  • LCBO
  • Beer Store
  • Federal Government
  • City hall
  • No mail delivery
  • Service Ontario
  • Transit stores

Most Region of Peel services are closed including:

  • Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) is closed Friday (Open Sunday 1-5 p.m.)
  • Region of Peel Human Services Reception
  • Employment Resource Centres
  • Peel Access to Housing
  • Ontario Works
  • Peel Living and Rent Supplement offices
  • Family Health Call Centre
  • Healthy Sexuality Clinics
  • Peel Works Needle Exchange Program (PWNEP)
  • Breastfeeding Clinic Services
  • Dental Services
  • TransHelp office

Other major malls closed:
- Square One Shopping Centre
- Vaughan Mills


  • Most restaurants and bars will be open but call ahead
  • Some smaller grocery stores like Rabba grocery stores
  • Most Shoppers Drug Marts
  • Movie theatres
  • Most fish and chip spots but call ahead
  • The Rec Room in Mississauga open for regular hours on both Good Friday and Easter Sunday

Major malls open Friday and Sunday:
- Toronto Premium Outlets - Friday - 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. / Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Eaton Centre - Friday - 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. / Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Pacific Mall - Friday - 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. / Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. 


Brampton Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule
GO Transit will run on a Sunday schedule

Transit stores are closed Friday and Sunday

Garbage Collection:

Residents are advised that there are no changes to waste collection on the Good Friday holiday in Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon, says the Region of Peel. Click here to find your collection date.

All Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) are closed Friday and Sunday.
