Witnesses sought after 16 year old fatally struck in Brampton

Police were called at 12:20 a.m. by a motorist who located a female pedestian laying in the eastbound lanes of Queen Street, east of Cherrycrest Drive.

The victim was taken to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. At 1:23 p.m., police reported that she had succumbed to her injuries.

She has been identified as 16 year old Toronto girl Dianna Manan.

“Investigation has revealed that the victim was struck by a vehicle, which then fled the area without stopping to render aid to the victim,” police say.

“Investigators are urging the driver of the vehicle to consult with a lawyer and make arrangements to speak with police.”

Police ask anyone who may have travelled through the area around midnight, or anyone with dashcam or surveillance footage, to contact the Major Collision Bureau at 905-453–2121, ext. 3710.
