A woman is in life-threatening condition after a stabbing in Brampton.

Peel police say the incident took place in the McLaughlin Rd and Wanless Dr. area.

A call regarding the incident came in around 5:00 am.

Police say the woman was taken to a trauma centre.

An adult male is in custody.

UPDATE:

Police say the 32-year-old female remains in hospital in life threatening condition.

A 47-year-old male is in custody. Police say the suspect and victim are known to each other.

There is no threat to public safety.
